FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – Florida Sod Suppliers
────────────────────────
What types of sod do you sell in Florida?
We sell only the three best-performing grass types for Florida’s climate:
• St. Augustine Floratam
• St. Augustine Palmetto
• Bahia
These grasses are selected for durability, heat tolerance, and performance in South Florida conditions.
What is your minimum order?
Our minimum order for delivery or pickup is 1 full pallet.
Do you offer sod installation?
Yes, installation is available in most South Florida cities. Installation may include removal of old grass, ground prep, leveling, and laying new sod. Availability depends on location.
Is sod guaranteed to live?
We guarantee that all sod is fresh, healthy, and in good condition at the time of delivery or pickup only.
Because sod is a live agricultural product and we cannot control watering, soil quality, drainage, shade, weather, fungus, or insects, we do not guarantee long-term survival after delivery or installation.
Are refunds available if the sod dies?
No. All sod sales are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges.
Once sod is delivered or picked up, the customer assumes full responsibility for proper installation, watering, and care.
How soon should sod be installed after delivery?
Sod should be installed the same day it is delivered whenever possible. Letting sod sit uninstalled can cause stress and damage.
How often do I need to water new sod?
New sod must be watered daily for the first 2–3 weeks until the roots establish.
In hot or windy weather, you may need to water more often.
When can I fertilize or treat my new lawn?
• Weed treatments: wait 45 days
• Fertilizer: wait 90 days
Early treatments can burn new sod or cause root damage.
What causes sod to turn brown after installation?
The most common causes are:
• Under-watering
• Uneven sprinkler coverage
• Poor soil preparation
• Extreme heat
• Standing water or drainage problems
• Fungus disease
These are maintenance and site-condition issues, not sod defects.
Can sod develop fungus or insects?
Yes. Florida’s humid climate naturally promotes fungus and insects. These are environmental conditions and not product defects. Ongoing lawn care is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Do you deliver or is pickup available?
We offer both delivery and pickup depending on location. Delivery fees vary based on distance and order size.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Not always. If access is available and instructions are provided in advance, delivery can usually be completed without the customer present.
Where will the pallets be placed?
Our drivers will place pallets as close as safely possible based on truck access, property layout, and safety conditions.
Are you responsible for irrigation lines or underground damage?
No. We are not responsible for underground utilities, irrigation lines, invisible dog fences, septic systems, or unmarked obstacles.
Can I cancel my order?
Cancellations must be made before sod is cut at the farm.
Once sod is cut, the order cannot be canceled or refunded.
